In this Lisbon property a bright veranda extends from the apartment’s living room, serving as a spacious extension of the living space, and giving the project its name. A vintage wicker chaise longue sourced from France, an assortment of leafy plants and the classic dining furniture lend the veranda a distinctly colonial feel.
Mid-century furniture decorates the living room, including a Develius Sofa by Edward van Vilet and Space Copenhagen’s Loafer chair in sumptuous velvet. In the centre of the room a statement-making stone coffee table crafted from Italian Fonssena sits on a smoked oak base, anchoring the room’s interior constellation. A minimalist bar made from African walnut by Mircea Anghel at Cabana Studios connects the kitchen and living areas and another piece from the Lisbon based carpenter, a bespoke bench, receives guests in the entrance hall.
The concept of the first bedroom brings together lighter colours and floral accessories, such as Richard Woods’ tree trunk vases, and an angular beige vanity made from local limestone, Lioz. In contrast, darker furnishings give a monochromatic feel to the second bedroom, with black and metal textures, such as the light fixtures from Northern and &tradition, the walnut desk and Humanist chair from Extranorm.
Quiet Studios delivered a full interior design, project management and furniture selection service for the Veranda Residence. The client brief was for a team frequently travelling on business: the space needed to be both stylish and personal, ready to host guests at any moment.
